Support for Learning

Sarah Jane Rothwell, Curriculum Leader for Support for Learning at Coatbridge College Our section provides an exciting range of full time programmes to prepare you for life and the world of work.

Our curriculum is balanced and programmed to enhance a wide range of skills from those aimed at employment (IT, numeracy and communication) to the softer skills which enhance your quality of life including boosting your confidence, your self image and your ability to socialise.

We tailor our programmes to suit your needs, from our first meeting with you at your interview to your ongoing Personal Development Plan in which you maintain and record your success throughout the academic year.

We also work closely with employers to provide work placements and ensure that our programmes are relevant to today’s industry.

Success Stories / Testimonials

an image of TRACEY, Foundation Course at Coatbridge College I am in my second year at the College doing the Foundation Course. This course is really good because there are lots of different classes to learn new skills.

My favourite parts of the course are drama and community skills. In drama I have built up my confidence in acting and enjoy dressing up and playing different characters.

We also visit different places in the community to learn about community and vocational skills to develop our independence and learn about different jobs. After my course I would maybe like to do another course at the College.
