Student Charter
The Charter is a contract between you and the College.
When you enquire about a course, we will:
- Deal with your enquiry promptly and provide you with details of our courses and facilities
- On request, provide you with information about courses, fees and course expenses
- Provide you with information on course success
- Give you the opportunity to have a talk with our guidance team or our careers adviser
When you apply to become a student, we will:
- Acknowledge your application and invite you for an interview
- Advise you about sources of financial help and any likely fees you may incur
- Give you information and advice about other support available in the College, eg child care, learning support, support for people with learning difficulties
- Give you information about other providers if we cannot offer you a place on a course
When you become a student, we will:
- Give you information about the College and about your course
- Provide you with a course learning plan describing your study programme
- Provide you with a learning statement which sets out what you may expect from the College and what we expect from you
- Provide you with a tutor to support you throughout your course
- Provide you with access to study services including counselling, financial advice, careers guidance and the students’ association
- Provide you with information about our rules, disciplinary and complaints procedures, and offer you opportunities to express your views about your course and the College
On finishing your course, we will:
- Provide you with a post course information pack outlining how you can access future opportunities
- Provide you with a list of your course achievements
- Provide you with the chance to use College facilities to pursue career and employment interests
- Endeavour to provide you with references for up to three years after you leave College

What we expect from you
As a student you should:
- Take responsibility for your own learning and for finding out what is expected of you while on the course
- Complete and submit assessments and course work by an agreed date, or negotiate an extension of time
- Discuss your progress with your personal guidance tutor
- Attend all sessions on time or explain lateness/absences
- Return any borrowed material by the agreed date
- Tell your personal guidance tutor if you are thinking of leaving the course
- Take responsibility for finding out about times and dates of examinations and assessments, registering for examinations and arranging for fees, if any, to be paid
- Abide by the College Code of Conduct
