Local Girl Strives For Success | 19.08.09
Local girl Rachel Middleton looks forward to a bright future after being accepted at Coatbridge College to study for a BA Business due to begin in August 2009.
Rachel, 19, is delighted to begin studying for a Bachelor of Arts in Business after 2 years of hard work at the College.
Rachel joined Coatbridge College in 2007 after leaving high school, and wanting to take charge of her learning, she enrolled on the HNC Administration and Information Technology course.
From there Rachel progressed to HND level, where she excelled and has just received the news of her acceptance onto the BA course to continue her studies at the College.
Rachel said,
‘I really enjoy being at Coatbridge College, I’ve met lots of friends and love my class group – I never thought two years ago I would have completed a Diploma let alone be on track to get my Degree!
Next year I’ll only be 19, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from my local College - I’m totally thrilled!’
Coatbridge College, who are working in partnership with the University of the West of Scotland to deliver the BA programme, give local people, like Rachel, the opportunity to study at degree level within their local area.
Clare Flynn, Senior Lecturer for Business and Information Technology at Coatbridge College said:
‘Rachel has excelled throughout her time at Coatbridge College and worked hard to achieve her qualifications.
Rachel’s success in being accepted to study for a BA at the College demonstrates a successful partnership with the University of the West of Scotland; as we continue to contribute to the widening of Higher Education provision in North Lanarkshire.’
