The Beauty, Spa and Holistic Therapies department at Coatbridge College hosted the event with the assistance of Environ’s trainer Joanne Macmillan, giving students invaluable practical experience with the products.

The launch was initiated and run by HND Beauty Therapy students (Denise Jack, Maria Flannigan and Sarah Casey) at the College, who participated in week long intensive courses carried out by Environ trainer Joanne. Students received event planning guidance and developed and sent invitations to the College’s client database.

Joanne said:
‘The students discovered that selling was easier than they imagined. With takings of more than £800 on the night, they proved they have the skills to carry out effective, educational consultations based on what they had learned. Profitable retailing will be an important part of their jobs when they graduate.’

Eileen Waugh, Senior Lecturer for Beauty, Spa and Holistic Therapies at Coatbridge College, said:
‘Environ gave us a whole package that can be utilised as a learning tool, which provides staff and students with enhanced treatment skills.

Although the products are simple to use, they have advanced treatment properties which has helped to enhance the students’ product knowledge and will ultimately improve their confidence in client consultation and treatment needs.

Joanne’s in-depth training and support has undoubtedly supplied our students with enhanced employability skills. The feedback from students, staff and clients has been extremely positive.

I’d like to thank Environ and all those involved for their continued support and assistance in this project.’
