Message to Parents
As a parent as well as a College Principal, I know that you will want the best for your son or daughter, and although sometimes they may not fully agree with us about what is best, they do however reluctantly, appreciate our continued interest and support. We also know that in addition to appropriate support, a key attainment to success is being interested in and motivated by what we are doing. This is true in work, education and indeed play.The emphasis for our young learners is on developing skills for the world of work. Don’t worry if their choice of area isn’t yours, the essential skills and qualities needed for the future including confidence, communication, teamwork and problem solving are developed in every area of our curriculum portfolio. In addition, they will be supported by a committed team of staff.
A key challenge for my staff is to motivate every student to enjoy learning and to take an active role in their self-development, whether it is towards employment or progressing onto a Further Education College or University course.
Coatbridge College is a College I would be happy for my children to attend. I hope you will come to see if it is the right next step for your young person.
