Coatbridge College Welcomes Freshers’ | 25.08.10
New students celebrated as they were welcomed to Coatbridge College with a Freshers’ BBQ, giant inflatables and friendly staff.
Coatbridge College opened its doors to new students to start the induction process for the new academic year and were given the opportunity to socialise with fellow classmates, meet staff and get an insight into College life.
They were then treated to a BBQ and freshers’ event involving inflatable sumo suits, a bungee run and surf board simulator.
A range of local organisations were also invited to the event to showcase the services and advice on offer to students at the College, among these included DW Sports, Access NL, BSM and LGBT.
Alison Fleming, Learner Engagement Co-ordinator, said:
‘We wanted to give students a warm welcome to the College, whether they were a new or returning student, and the event was a huge success!
It was a fantastic opportunity for everyone to find out about local services available to them, try new things and socialise with their new classmates in a fun and informal environment.
I would like to say a special thank you to all of the organisations, College staff and students that attended and supported our Freshers’ event at the College. Your support has been greatly appreciated’.
