Equality Documents
We are fully committed to Equal Opportunities and are taking positive steps to ensure that Equal Opportunities become integral to the way we carry out our services. We believe that a properly implemented and monitored Equality Strategy is in the best interests of the College, our students and our employees, both present and future. With this in mind, we publish a range of documents that show how we operate. The documents cover the areas of:
- Equality, Diversity & Inclusion Policy
- Single Equality Scheme 2010-13
- Combined Annual Report on Progress 2010
- Equal Pay Statement August 2010 to August 2013
- Equal Pay Progress Report September 2010
Equality Impact Assessment
An Equality Impact Assessment is the process by which organisations examine their activities in order to minimise the potential of discrimination. It is a way of making sure that services are improved so that everyone can benefit, regardless of their race, sex or disability.Coatbridge College continually makes service improvements to ensure equality and the prevention of discrimination. Some examples of the work we have done to reduce any negative impact and promote equality include the redesign of our website, which is now fully accessible, and has been awarded an AAA rating. Another example is with regard to curriculum choice – having monitored student admission data, we developed taster courses for curriculum areas which were dominated by one gender, such as Childcare.
Our Equality Schemes emphasise the important of Equality Impact Assessment, and we are committed to systematically embedding these assessments in all of our activities.
