Disability Equality

Coatbridge College is committed to promoting disability equality, which is central to all our activities.

At Coatbridge College we recognise that we must strive to ensure that we:
  • Promote equality so that disabled people who study, work or visit Coatbridge College can enjoy the range of services we offer, free from discrimination.
  • Challenge and eradicate discrimination against disabled people.
  • Provide responsive and accessible services for all our stakeholders.
  • Promote equality for disabled people in all our activities.

In terms of specific support for students with a disability, we have a dedicated Learner Support Services team who can tailor additional support to particular needs. Additional support can include training in assistive technology, adapted course materials and advice on adjustments at assessment. For further information on our Learner Support Service, please contact jgraham@coatbridge.ac.uk

Our Support for Learning section provides a range of programmes to meet the various needs of students with additional support needs, including those with learning difficulties, physical difficulties, mental health problems, and hearing or visual impairments.

Please refer to these documents for further details on the action we will take to ensure and promote disability equality: We are always interested in hearing your ideas about equality and diversity within the College, and what we can do to further promote equality. If you have any comments or ideas, please email lsutherland@coatbridge.ac.uk
