The Early Education and Child Care section offers a range of courses to suit the needs of all students, from Intermediate 1 level through to HNC in Early Education and Child Care, which is a professionally recognised qualification which enables you to take the first step on a very satisfying career working with children.

Our intention is for our students to develop a genuine child-centred approach which will encourage you to work with children rather than for them. We believe that working together, listening to one another and sharing ideas are essential skills for those who want to work in a child care setting. Each course offers you the opportunity to gain and develop a wide range of skills and qualities required in an exciting and rewarding area, as well as providing a clear progression route. Successful candidates must be in receipt of a Disclosure Scotland record, however we will assist and direct you through the process.

Coming back into education was a big thing for me.

I was quite nervous about it but I got brilliant support from all areas of the College, from my lecturers and the Horizon Centre to the College Nursery where my daughter went each day.

I definitely enjoyed my course, but the best thing for me about coming to College was getting back out and mixing with new people.

It’s increased my confidence and I now work in a Nursery in Castlemilk as part of a job share which is ideal.
